Atlas Farts

So just what the hell is going on with the weather?

Yesterday it was quite nice. This morning there was so much wind it felt like Atlas farted. Honestly, it was a truly fascinating (if hair-raising) ride to work today. I felt like a small paper boat being buffeted around on a lake; a plaything of Aeolus and the children of the winds. The bike would occasionally get caught by a gust and do a semicircle into the other lane, no matter how much I gripped the handles for dear life. Periodically, pieces of airborne tree would bounce off my head (always welcome when you’re going 50mph on two wheels!) And the rain? Well it was only light drizzle, but it was driven by such a high speed wind that it felt like small pins being hammered into your face. Lovely stuff. I actually got to work, much to my personal amazement. Since then, the weather has been through extreme deep torrential ocean falling through a sieve, blue-skied warm, brilliant sunshine, and currently settled on Hurricane Albert, which is threatening to rip bricks out of the car park wall. I actually just saw a branch blow past as I typed that. So, yes. Looks like it’s going to be a fun ride home too!
